NF slowly but surely making his way up the Hip Hop ranks internationally.

In an era where Hip Hop music no longer carries a lot of substance in its lyrics spewed by artists, where only a handful of rappers are holding on to the title of real or true hip hop or better yet are keeping Hip Hop alive, those rappers I am talking about are the likes of Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Eminem, Joyner Lucas, Logic and now NF etc.

NF is an American rapper who started rapping from an early age, he has released three albums to his name namely “Mansion” 2015, “Therapy Session” 2016, and “Perception” 2017, the latest project perception is what propelled him to the Hip Hop world.

NF’s albums carries a powerful message of self-discovery, dealing with fear, anxiety, depression, most of his songs are emotional and very relating to one struggles, one thing I like about NF is his unique approach to music, he is a sort of artists who doesn’t do a lot of interviews or speaks much, you can only hear what he is about in his music and or he doesn’t do a lot of features on his albums.

The rapper takes his music seriously to a point that you can hear his raw emotions in his lyrics and whoo!!! his delivery is something else, he sort of reminds me of the younger version of Eminem, not trying to compare him to Eminem though, NF has his own aggressive style and doesn’t even curse in his music, just like he says in his single “Green Lights” “Who you know droppin’ clean records, but they nasty?

I first heard of NF in 2016 when I was watching a Youtube video of Kendrick Lamar, under recommended videos and I decided to take a look at his music, the first song I listened to was “How could you leave us?” which it’s about his mom who died because of drug overdose, well that song did something to me that I’ve never experienced before when listening to a rap song, it left me emotional cause I related so much to his lyrics and you can also hear from his voice that recording that track was not an easy feat.

NF real music as he is affectionately known is here to stay, and I believe he is going to be in people’s lips for a long haul, his triple platinum selling single “Let you down”  from the gold selling album “Perception” (Gold is 50 0000 in America, in SA its 20 000, 3 million sold according to American standards, in South Africa a platinum track is 50 000 sold) was an eye opener that brought him a lot of new fans the video of Let you down was even in rotation in SA’s biggest music channel Channel O.

NF recently released a new single titled “Why” which immediately hit more than 1 million views in less than a day.

Press Release by Mr Moyo (Fresh Impressions Owner)

“I had been watching Lux Kent for a while with the work him and Jarod Kemp had been doing with the ‘Living Legacy Movement.’ I knew at some point we will work together. I remember Courtney Antipas asking me last month why I haven’t signed Lux Kent yet. His message came in very early that morning, before 7am, and I knew I had to approach Lux Kent. To my suprise, when I did approach him, i was told Jarod Kemp
had asked Lux Kent, a week before that, what he would do if I came and said I would like to sign him and work with him. It is evident this signing is for this time and season and there was confirmation all around. Lux Kent’s online presence, blog and web excellence is one thing many artists can learn from him and I know he has a lot to offer. We will help, of coz, as well in growing him as a brand. Fresh Impressions prides itself in giving artists new platforms and widening their reach extensively and that’s what’s we undoubtedly plan to do with Lux Kent.”
